About the Author(s)

Mary Tassell became a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists in 2000, subsequently taking over editorship of its in-house magazine for a number of years. Her professional career has included teaching at Western herbal medicine training clinics and the Northern College of Acupuncture. She runs a variety of informal courses, walks, and workshops and is senior tutor on the Heartwood Foundation Course in Western Herbal Medicine.

Anita Ralph runs Medicine Tree – a busy, full-time practice and herbal dispensary in West Malling in Kent and also treats patients at an Integrated Gynaecology Clinic. She is a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy and has a master’s degree in herbal medicine. Anita is currently lead tutor on the Heartwood Foundation Course in Western Herbal Medicine.
